Grandma's coming!

As a birthday present for my mom, we decided rather than bringing Sean (and all that comes with him) t0 her, we brought Grandmas to Sean! Though he is still a little young to appreciate what "grandma" really means to him, he nonetheless rose to the occasion as he did realize she is another person who loves to play, smile, sing, and hug all day long.

The idea of "grandma" was NOT lost on this mom as I reveled in the chance to catch with her AND have an extra set of hands to run some errands. Though this visit was short, I know Sean
will start to see the value of grandma love before long.

One thing that Grandma was sent to verify on this trip was "exactly how long is that boy?" Though we have not pulled out the yard stick, he's every bit of 24 inches and doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. We'll have our official height checked on the 8th, but until then, he is longer than his inchworm!

The visit was short, but I loved every minute of it! Looking forward to some possible time with more family soon...

Our Funny Valentine

After such an eventful December, Kris and I decided that Valentine's Day should be low-key. So instead of running around to find something that said "i love you" we said it to each other, and to Sean. We dipped strawberries from Plant City (gotta love February) and Sean and I made valentines for the ladies who spend all day with him.

After delivering these cuties, one of his caregivers (whose husband is deployed right now) smiled and said "this is my only valentine today!" Her husband had flowers sent over the weekend, but her valentine for February 14th was Sean.

And what a funny valentine he is. Now well into month 3, he seems to try a new face out to see if it makes us laugh. He is a happy child, which in turn makes happy parents. There's no better way to spend Valentine's Day that being happy with those you love.

THREE months old!

The proverbial "growing like a weed" sometimes doesn't seem to really express just how fast a newborn changes. Everyday he seems to grow a little more. Now here we are, three months old! Some things that Sean can do now:

Smile

Control his arms (sometimes)

Prop up on his arms

and his latest trick...sleeping through the night! Well, he's done it two nights in a row. We all hope its the start of a trend. Here's to three more months of watching our little weed grow!

Like Father, Like Son

From the day we took home our first ultrasound of Sean, we knew he was probably going to look a lot like his dad. The fact that the ultrasound we took home was of him facing the camera, providing us a clear image of his jaw, chin, and shape of his head all gave clues that he was taking after Kris. Upon his arrival in November, even the nurses took one look at him and knew who he belonged to. At day 2, the shape of the head, the lips, the jaw line all said "mini-me". By week 2, it was apparent that his looks weren't going anywhere. So Sean moved on to exhibiting more of Kris's expressions. At first it was the serious brow, then a few hand movements that were very much his dad. I'd see him sleeping or watch gestures and see Kris all over again. And now, at three months old, it is even more obvious...

Sean is definitely "Kris's boy"
