Sean proved to be a GREAT traveler this week as we not only flew to Florida but drove to DC as well!

We decided to do two things with our Spring Break this year: set Sean aside for the Lord in Chris's home church and go sight-seeing in Washington DC. After some thought on how to accomplish this, we opted to fly to Florida for a few days, come home and drive down to DC. Sean proved to travel wonderfully on both flights. So much so that a few folks felt like commenting on how wonderful he was. Though proud and relieved, the thought came to mind that we don't lean over to the adult that behaved well next to us on the plane and comment, but everyone will certainly tell a baby that!

One part of the trip that we had not counted on was actually being in Plant City for the Strawberry Festival. Kris has been sharing tales of this fair for over ten years and somehow, by complete accident, we were finally in town while the festival was still going on. So down to the fairgrounds Kylee, Kris, and I trekked to have strawberry pie and the Raider Band pie stand and to peruse the booths. It looked like a great time and I look forward to taking Sean there when he's old enough to take it in.

We made it to Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Plant City on Sunday for Sean's baptism. Pastor Mason was kind enough to conduct the ceremony during the service and to provide a wonderful introduction as to why we were dedicating/baptizing Sean at this time at this church.

It was a beautiful service and we had a lot of family and friends come in for it. Sean, the trooper, made it through the ceremony without a peep!
The proud grandparents opened their home up Sunday afternoon for family and friends to drop in and it gave us a great chance to catch up with several of Kris's old friends. Even after all of that, they graciously signed up for double-babysitting by watching Sean and Kingston so we could go out with Kylee and Cal for dinner! By the photos, you can tell it was a tough commitment...

We left mid-70s weather on Tuesday to return to New York just long enough to repack and get ready to drive to DC. Sean did great on the return flight and seemed quite comfortable to be home...if only for one night.
